Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: July 26, 2026
1. General Information
The provider of services through this website is PURPOSEHAT SRL, a company registered under Romanian law, with registered office in Popești-Leordeni, Ilfov County, Romania, Tax Identification Number (CUI): 53635500, Trade Register Number: J23/2918/2025. Contact email: hello@purposehat.com. PURPOSEHAT SRL is hereinafter referred to as "PurposeHat" or "the Provider".
2. Purpose of Services
PurposeHat offers career counseling programs designed to support professional development through structured guidance, self-assessment tools, strategic career planning, and related educational content. The services are informational and educational in nature and do not constitute psychological therapy, legal advice, or a guarantee of employment.
3. Contracting and Payment Method
Services are contracted exclusively online, through the platform available at www.purposehat.com. Payment is made in full, in advance, through the Stripe payment processor. By completing the payment, the client confirms agreement with these Terms and Conditions. Access to the program is granted after payment confirmation.
4. Client Rights and Obligations
The client undertakes to: provide accurate and up-to-date personal information; actively participate in the purchased program; respect the schedule and terms of the sessions; not share, reproduce, or distribute the materials received without written consent from PurposeHat.
5. Right of Withdrawal, Cancellation and Rescheduling
In accordance with OUG 34/2014 (transposing Directive 2011/83/EU), the client has the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 calendar days from the date of purchase, under the conditions below. Self-paced / digital content: by purchasing a program that includes digital content with immediate online access, the client expressly requests that access begins immediately and acknowledges that, once access has been granted, the right of withdrawal is lost for that content, which is therefore non-refundable. Programs with 1:1 sessions: if the client withdraws within the 14-day period, PurposeHat refunds the value of the sessions not yet held. Sessions already held, and sessions missed without at least 24 hours' notice, are deducted and considered performed. A maximum of 1 rescheduling per session is allowed, with at least 24 hours' notice. If no digital content has been accessed and no session has been held, the client receives a full refund within the 14-day period. After 14 days, the statutory right of withdrawal no longer applies; any further refund is at PurposeHat's discretion. Refund requests are sent to hello@purposehat.com and are processed within 14 days.
6. Limitation of Liability
PurposeHat does not guarantee specific results such as obtaining a job, promotion, or salary increase. The services offered are support and guidance services. The client is solely responsible for the decisions made based on the information received during the program.
7. Copyright
All materials provided within the programs (documents, presentations, templates, videos, etc.) are the intellectual property of PURPOSEHAT SRL. Any reproduction, distribution, or public use without the written consent of the Provider is prohibited.
8. Personal Data Protection (GDPR)
Personal data collected (name, email address, payment information) is used exclusively for the purpose of providing the contracted services. Data is processed in accordance with EU Regulation 679/2016 (GDPR). The client has the right to access, rectify, delete, and port their data, as well as the right to object to processing. Requests can be sent to hello@purposehat.com. Data is stored for the duration of the contractual relationship and for the legally required period thereafter, as detailed in the Privacy Policy.
9. Modifications
PurposeHat reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time by publishing the updated version on the website. Users will be notified of significant changes via email or through a notification on the platform. Changes do not apply retroactively to services already purchased.
10. Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Romanian law. We aim to resolve any dispute amicably; you can contact us at hello@purposehat.com. As a consumer, you may also turn to the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC, www.anpc.ro) and to alternative dispute resolution (SAL) entities, or use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably fall under the jurisdiction of the competent Romanian courts, in accordance with the law. Nothing in this clause deprives a consumer of the right to bring proceedings before the courts of their place of domicile.
11. Career Counseling Program for Young People
PurposeHat offers a dedicated career counseling program for young people, structured as individual sessions with a counselor from the PurposeHat team. The program is addressed to young people aged between 16 and 30. The program is not a psychological evaluation, but a structured process of exploring interests, values, and career directions. Sessions are confidential between the counselor and the young person. To participate, the young person registers using the form available on the website. Registration implies acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and of the Privacy Policy.
12. Participation of Minors (16-17 years)
For young people aged 16 and 17, participation in the program takes place on the basis of a contract concluded between PurposeHat and a parent or legal guardian of the minor. The minor may initiate registration on the website, but the contractual relationship is established with the parent or legal guardian, in their capacity as legal representative of the minor. The contract is concluded electronically: the parent or legal guardian receives the contract at their verified email address and accepts it through an explicit confirmation, which is recorded with a date and time stamp. The program cannot begin for minor participants before this contract is concluded. At the end of the program, the parent or guardian receives a general summary of the young person's journey, without disclosing the specific content of the sessions, which remains confidential between the counselor and the young person. The parent or legal guardian may terminate the minor's participation in the program under the conditions provided in the contract concluded.
13. Sponsoring a Place (Funding a Young Person's Participation)
A natural person or a company may sponsor a place in the youth program, funding the participation of a young person who could not otherwise afford it. A place is purchased as such; the funder does not select a specific, identified young person. PurposeHat allocates each funded place to a young person in genuine need, working together with a partner NGO or care center. This does not constitute a sponsorship within the meaning of Law 32/1994, but a purchase of services for the benefit of a third party designated by PurposeHat and its partner. PurposeHat issues a fiscal invoice in the name of the person or company that funds the place. The funder acquires no right over the young person and does not receive the young person's personal data. After the program, the funder receives an anonymized or aggregate impact summary, without disclosing the identity of the young person or the specific content of the sessions. PurposeHat does not operate a public list of identifiable young people. Any real story shared for illustration is anonymized and is published only with the explicit written consent of the young person or, for minors, of the parent or legal guardian; that consent may be withdrawn at any time by emailing hello@purposehat.com, and the material is removed within 72 hours. Publication is never a condition of participation. If a funded place cannot be delivered or the young person does not complete the program, PurposeHat reallocates the remaining value to another young person or, at the funder's request, refunds the corresponding amount. The funder may choose, at the time of purchase, whether their name appears on the PurposeHat partners page or whether the funding remains anonymous.
14. Gift Cards
PurposeHat offers gift cards that can be purchased on the website and used toward any PurposeHat program. Each gift card has a fixed value and is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. The gift code is single-use: if the chosen program costs more than the card, the difference is paid at checkout; if it costs less, the remaining balance stays on the code until it is used up or until it expires. Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash. Except where the law provides otherwise (for example, the 14-day right of withdrawal of the purchaser), gift cards are non-refundable. The recipient's use of a gift card is subject to these Terms and Conditions and to the Privacy Policy.
